Partitioned views Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Partitioned views - Research Paper Example The tables that take part in the partitioned view have either the same or extremely alike structures as far as the names of the column, the types of data, the precision and scale are concerned. These needs to be similar if one wishes to have a read-only view or they must be the same if one wishes to allow updates in the course of the view (Views- Partitioned, 2012). In this organization, each of the servers that take part in the partitioned view are required to be linked as servers on the servers present locally where the view is identified. Portions of the entire set of data are contained in the tables on each of the servers. Thus a table can be split horizontally through the use of partitioned views enabling the achievement of the most advantageous performance. Partitioning column is referred to the column that performs the task of splitting the larger table into the smaller ones. The partitioned views are put into practice all the way through remote that is distributed queries (Views- Partitioned, 2012). â€Å"Partitioning  enables you to decompose very large tables and indexes into smaller and more manageable pieces called  partitions. Each partition is an independent object with its own name and optionally its own storage characteristics† (Partitions, Views, and Other Schema Objects, 2011). With the use of a partitioned view, partitioned data that are arranged horizontally are joined from a set of member tables transversely one or more servers, making it appear as if the data comes from a single table.  Federation of database servers, referring to the group of servers controlled autonomously, is capable of being implemented through the use of distributed partitioned views (Creating a Partitioned View, 2012). The advantages of partitioned views can be understood as follows (Partitioned Tables and Indexes, 2002): Data management operations are enabled through partitioned views. These include data loads, index creation and rebuilding. This also

Persuasive speech Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Persuasive speech - Essay Example This is indeed true because beauty within any person is difficult to judge since it is hidden deep down inside. On the same token, I believe that beauty could be judged by this person’s actions, behaviors and talks. He or she could be written off as an ugly person if he or she does not know how to talk to people, how to interact with them and how to be considerate towards their issues. Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to suggest that beauty must not be looked inside people with an exterior eye alone. It needs to be based on past events, present understanding of matters and how things would shape up within the future. Beauty comprises of all these tangents to be called as beauty in essence. I would like to end my speech by making a point here. Beauty of face and body could vanish with the changing times but it is the inner charisma known as innate value system of which beauty is just a single part that never leaves an individual alone. Beauty is indeed more than skin deep. I would like to thank each one of you present in this august

How I Reach My Dream Essay Example for Free

How I Reach My Dream Essay As human being, all of us have dreams needs to achieve them. The poor people have dreams and the rich people as well. Dreams are the most amazing thing in the life. We all love to dream to hope and see ourselves going to be better and better each day. However, I know some people may say that dreams are hard to follow and it’s impossible to be real. But that’s actually not true, because our dreams are in our hands. We are the ones that can control them and makes them real. For me, I was looking up to many things during my life like; learning English, and I am good at it and completing my higher degree. I will show you how I reach my dream and became true. In 2005, when I graduated from high school, I was planning to major in Computer Engineering at King Fahd University or King Faisal University, but my accumulative GPA was not what they are asking for. Therefore, they didn’t accept me. I felt like I had the worst luck ever. After a few days my friend informed me that I have been accepted in College of Technology At Dammam. I was more than happy, because I can get my diploma degree. I studied English language and Math in my first year. I did a great job, so they approve my major as Computer Engineering. But, I was depressed at the beginning because this college didn’t have Bachelor Degree they only have diploma degree. However, having diploma degree is better than nothing. After I graduated from College of Technology At Dammam In 2008, I started looking for a job for about three months. Finally, I had been accepted in Tide Company. The offer told me that I have to work as IT Helper for 8 hours from Saturday to Wednesday. Working in a company as helper is not my dream. However, I have no other choices. So I worked for this company to have experience and to save money as well. I really got a huge experience from coworkers and I used to love my job. Unfortunately, a huge problem occurred between the supervisor and me. The supervisor did not give me a recommendation to raise my salary. However, I was working hard for Tow years and half. I sat at home for more than a month thinking about the old thought and what I suppose to do. Although, my mother doesn’t write and read she said you have to make the right move I asked her HOW? She said you want to become an engineer don’t you? So, why don’t you go to Canada to complete your study? I will be proud of you. I felt like yes this is my chance. I talked with my father about going to Canada to study and he encouraged me to do it. So, he promised me to help me as much as he can. I applied for ELS English Language Center. Then I filled out the VISA application and after two weeks I got the Canadian VISA. I arranged everything to travel and I sold my car. The last day for me in Saudi Arabia with my family was difficult. I hate to say bye to whom I love. In the morning, I went with my family and my colas friends to the airport. My flight was like this from Dammam to Qatar, then from Qatar to Toronto. It was too long; the total duration is 16 hours. Finally, I arrived to Toronto to study English. I studied for one year in Toronto to complete my English program. When I have done my program, I applied for the IELTS Test. After 15 days I got my scare. I did a greet job I got 5 in the IELTS, after that I decided to came to the United State. At the same month I applied for The ISU and I have been accepted and they transfer all my previous credits. The life here in the United State is different, because of the cultural differences between Middle East and western countries. I had many problems, but I am truing to achieve my dreams. In conclusion, dreams are nothing but thoughts and ideas of ones mind, so set your dreams right in front your eyes and work hard for them. There is no doubt you will reach them someday. Basically, what you would like to be actually depends on you in the first place. All you need is a relentless pursuit to achieve your dreams and dont stop until you do. Through sweat, blood and tears, let nothing slow your pursuit. So, I wrote my story to help any hopeless person who belief that life will not end with the first problem.

Fraternization :: essays papers

Fraternization To many people's opinion of gestures of affection are morally correct and should be displayed anywhere one wants. Today's society has made any form of publicly displaying affection out to be the unpardonable sin. But why? Why should we have to hide the fact that we like someone from our piers? If you choose to, that is one thing, but being force to hide the fact that you like someone is, I think, an injustice to our right to the pursuit of happiness. I don't think that on the final of creation, when God made Eve for Adam, God said, "Now Adam don't touch." I just can't picture a God of love, which is love, saying that. I think that God may have even encouraged it a little, if He needed to. Publicly displaying affection is good for the person receiving the affection because they then know that there is someone in this world of six billion people that cares for them personally. Today's teachers have been told not to even touch a student because the school might get sued for sexual harassment. And, because of that we, the students enrolled in the school, can't show our affection to each other. I mean just think about it, if a student is going to harass someone they are going to do it, but if they are just showing affection their is no reason for alarm. I mean if you think about it, we wouldn't touch each other if we didn't want to. So, all public displays of affection at school would be consentual, therefore it's not sexual harassment. Not only is it good for the person receiving the PDA, but the person giving it is showing the emotions and stresses of the day in the way of affection. It takes your mind off of the troubles of the day by giving u a moment when your heart no longer beats irregularly, but because of that simple, calm, morally correct act of showing affection for someone else you are now filled with an inner peace. Not a peace where you can't do anything, but a peace were nothing in the world can bother you. Except when a person of supposed "higher authority" comes and says that in a way, a small way, holding hands in the so-called place of learning is incorrect. Today's society has altered the thinking of people. Because of the numerous sex offenders in the world, we can't show are affection without someone thinking how much money the person receiving the affection is going to sue for. Hand holding has been made out to be sex.

Ichabod Crane and Abraham Van Brunt Essay

In the short story of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow you will find two very different men, Ichabod Crane and Abraham Van Brunt, competing against each other for but one woman’s hand in marriage, Katrina Van Tassel. Katrina Van Tassel was a ravishing young lady of only eighteen and the only child of a very wealthy farmer named Baltus Van Tassel. Her father paid little attention to her other than to be proud of her good doings when they were praised by others. Because of her beauty, along with the wealth of her father, Katrina had the interest of many men. Although these men were driven away in defeat by a man named Abraham Van Brunt, whom also had a strong interest in Katrina. Abraham Van Brunt, also known as Brom Brunt, was tall and extremely hansom with dark curly hair. He was described as muscular and strong, thus he was given the nick name Brom Bones by the townspeople. Brom was known for his rambunctious personality, his love for pranks, and his admirable great skills on horseback. He was known as the â€Å"village hero.† He wanted Katrina’s hand in marriage, not because he loved her, but because he was determined to inherit the wealth of her father Baltus. Brom managed to scare off all the other suitors of Katrina with violence and physical confrontation. He had no competition! That is until Ichabod Crane came along. Ichabod Crane was a shy school teacher who had traveled from his home state of Connecticut to Sleepy Hollow, New York. He came to teach the children about the area. He was known to be a strict teacher, but not cruel. Ichabod was described as a lanky man; tall and thin with big hands and feet and also a rather large nose. He was said to be an awkward n clumsy man. Although he was a rather thin man, he was capable of eating plenty and was often looking forward to do so. He was an extremely superstitious man, so much that he believed in every myth, legend, and tall tale to be truth. This resulted in him easily being scared of anything that reminded him of ghost, goblins, witches, demons, etc. Despite his awkwardness, Crane was a very sociable man. I guess he had to be considering the fact that he would live at the homes of the townspeople, a different one every week. He was said to be a kind man. He would sometimes walk his students home from school, he would play with some of the bigger kids, and he would even help farmers with all of their farming duties. Many women took a liking to Ichabod because he was known to be kind and gentlemanlike. Also, he loved to sing and he had a beautiful voice and the ladies loved it! In fact, his voice was so beautiful that he also taught the townspeople to sing and also led the choir at the village’s church. Katrina was a student of Ichabod. When he had first met her, like many others, he was mesmerized by her beauty. Although it wasn’t until he had met her father and seen her farmhouse that he felt he was in love with her. To me it seemed as if he had just fallen in love with the idea of inheriting her father’s wealth, but the story says he was in love with her and wanted her heart, not just her wealth. Of course, this didn’t sit well with Brom Brunt at all, and he would try to chase Ichabod off. But Brom couldn’t do it in his usual way of violence, because Ichabod had a way of avoiding physical confrontation with him. So instead, Brom would use his second best skill, pranks! Knowing that Crane was a superstitious man who was easily scared, Brom would begin to taunt and tease him with scary stories, including the town’s most famous one, the legend of the headless horseman. This would eventually mark the end of Ichabod Crane. The story tells that one night after attending a party held at the Van Tassel home, when Ichabod was walking home, he had an encounter with what seemed to be the headless horseman. He was never to be seen again. Some believed that it was actually the headless horseman himself who had taken the life of Ichabod, but others believed that is was just Brom Bones in costume out to get what he wanted, Crane gone! As you can see, in comparison, these two men were very different from each other. Quite the opposite I’d say. The only thing that they shared a common ground with each other would be their desire for the Katrina Van Tassel and her inheritance. Even then, they would attempt to woo her in very different ways, Crane with his songs and his stories of superstitions, and Brom with his violence and strength. Besides the way these men look, their personalities and even their interests and talents were very different. I’d say Brom Bones was a man of good looks and brawn but rather rowdy, rude, and perhaps cruel. While Ichabod was a sensitive man with a kind heart and although he was lanky and awkward looking he was a gentleman with good social skills.
